It’s not the newest tech innovation from Apple, but Portugal’s i is making a name for itself, recently being recognized as the world’s best-designed newspaper.  After only two years in existence, this colorful publication presents information to the citizens of Portugal in clear, concise, and creative ways.  Using colorful photos, eye-catching graphs, and creative story-writing, informação takes its cues from both traditional newspapers as well as modern tabloids to create a publication worth reading.  Judges from the Society of News Design shared that their final decision came down to simple innovation.  As newspapers and periodicals head for extinction, perhaps i has a few tricks to share that can keep the industry afloat for a few more years.
